I started building websites by hand-coding HTML in the mid-90s, and have spent the thirty years since working across corporate, publishing, education, nonprofit, and now freelance settings. What's stayed constant is the real work: understanding what a site needs to say, and having the judgment to leave the rest out. Today that means partnering with nonprofits, small businesses, and civic clients who have something worth communicating clearly. My background is in American Studies, with a focus on how people come to trust and believe what they read, which has shaped how I think about this work from the start. The full site is on its way.
